Tobias Harris Free Agency!

Image
Tobias Harris is arguably the biggest free agent this summer who isn't an All-Star. After an early playoff exit to the New York Knicks after six games, it's looking like his time with the Philadelphia 76ers is over. Harris did not look at all like himself in the postseason, averaging only nine points per game. Matter of fact, in game six which was an elimination scenario for the Sixers, he scored zero points and played 29 minutes. It is almost absolutely certain that Harris will not return to Philadelphia and will explore free agency.            Harris just finished playing through a five-year, $180 million contract. To many, especially Sixers fans, it is crazy to be paying a player that much money who hasn't made an All-Star team or isn't really close to that level of status. Now Harris has always been reliable as a role player, in the last five years he's played 60 games or more, averaged 14 points per game or ...

Should the Timberwolves Trade KAT?

Image
The Minnesota Timberwolves just had their most successful season in two decades. They won over 50 games this year, the first time doing that since the 2003-04 season. The Wolves won their first playoff series in twenty years, sweeping the Phoenix Suns who had Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal as a trio. They would dethrone the defending champion Denver Nuggets in the semi-finals after seven games, overcoming a 20-point deficit, the biggest in game seven history.            The Minnesota Timberwolves have reached the Western Conference Finals for the first time since 2004 and were the favorites against the Dallas Mavericks. However, in the first three games of the series, they did not click as a team, especially on the defensive end which was their entire identity this year. Karl-Anthony Towns would be disastrous in the beginning. He shot 27.8 percent from the field and 13.6 percent from three-point ran...

Tyus Jones Free Agency!

Image
Tyus Jones is regarded as one of the best backup point guards in the NBA. Most notable for his time with the Memphis Grizzlies. He would have his most productive seasons with the franchise as a bench piece and gained a lot of respect around the league. Last summer, Jones would get traded to the Washington Wizards as part of the infamous three-team deal in which Kristaps Porzingis landed with the Boston Celtics and Marcus Smart to the Memphis Grizzlies.            Jones was a full-time starter this season with the Wizards and averaged career-highs in points (12.3) and assists (7.3). Despite ending the season with a horrendous record, Tyus Jones still has a lot of respect around the league and will now hit the free-agent market. More than likely, Jones will not return to Washington and look elsewhere for a new home. It's been reported by NBA analyst Jake Weinbach that the Miami Heat, Philadelphia 76ers, Los Angeles...

Malik Monk Upcoming Free Agency!

Image
Malik Monk just had the best season in his young NBA career. Averaged career-highs in points (15.4) and assists (5.1) per game while coming off the bench. He was runner-up for the Sixth Man of the Year award, Naz Reid from the Minnesota Timberwolves won it. Monk played a huge role in the Sacramento Kings ending their sixteen-year playoff drought last season. Now he will enter free agency this summer and has many suitors ready to make an offer.            Of course, the Sacramento Kings want to re-sign Monk but their offer will be limited compared to other teams. The max they can offer is a four-year, $78 million deal meanwhile teams such as the Philadelphia 76ers, Detroit Pistons, Orlando Magic and Oklahoma City Thunder have the cap space to outbid that. Three of these teams were in the playoffs this year and Monk can make an immediate impact. He has expressed interest in returning to Sacramento but will likely l...

Malik Beasly To the Rockets?

Image
Malik Beasley was one of the best three-point shooters this season. He shot a career-high 41.3% from deep with the Milwaukee Bucks. While they got knocked out in the first-round of the playoffs, in the six games played, Beasley shot 44% from three-point range. He will gain lots of interest from multiple teams this summer as he will be a free agent, one being the Houston Rockets.            While the Rockets are in the Donovan Mitchell sweepstakes, it's been reported by Breaux, a team media member, that they have an interest in Beasley. They were the eighth-worst three-point shooting team in the entire league this season. Beasley is a player that can easily be plugged into any system, he can be a starter or come off the bench, and he is one of the best at catch-and-shooting. Even though they missed the playoffs, the Houston Rockets have shown tremendous improvements since the beginning of their rebuild in 2020....

OKC Ready To Move On From Josh Giddey?

Image
Josh Giddey is one of many young talented players on the Oklahoma City Thunder but his fit is in question. His productivity wasn't the same in the playoffs as during the regular season. He seems to have difficulty finding a rhythm playing off the ball and it's hard to keep it in his hands when you have Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams, and Chet Holmgren on the team. The Thunder are expected to shop Giddey in trade talks this offseason and he is eligible for a rookie contract extension.            Giddey was a liability on the defensive end and opponents dared him to shoot from three-point range. Statistically, he has improved as a shooter but just wasn't good enough as teams would still leave him open. Giddey is a talented player but seems to be at his very best with the ball in his hands so a new scenery might be best for him. If you're the Thunder you hope this isn't another James Harden scenario.  ...

Will Cleveland Move On From Jarrett Allen?

Image
The Cleveland Cavaliers won their first playoff series without LeBron James since 1993. They matched up against a young Orlando Magic team, a franchise making the playoffs for the first time in four years. It was a series where the home team won every game, finishing with the Cavaliers winning in seven. After four games, Jarrett Allen would be sidelined after suffering a rib injury which moved Evan Mobley to center.           The Cavaliers would face the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals, missing Jarrett Allen for the entire series. While they lost after five games, Evan Mobley showed he is the future of the franchise. He averaged 21.4 points and 9.4 rebounds per game in the semi-finals, shot over 60 percent from the field in every game, and scored a playoff career-high 33 points in game five. He showed how talented he is in one of the biggest stages in the NBA.        ...

Julius Randle On the Move?

Image
The New York Knicks' playoff hopes ended heartbreakingly. Losing game seven at home against the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals. They looked like a championship contender this year after winning 50 games in the regular season, having a top-ten defense and offense, and having a deep roster. Sadly injuries robbed the Knicks from advancing to the conference finals. Knicks All-Star guard Jalen Brunson said he doesn't view this season as a success since they didn't win the championship or weren't close but the fact is that this is the best the franchise has looked in a long time.            Julius Randle was one of many injuries to come up for the Knicks. He badly hurt his shoulder in a regular season matchup against the Miami Heat towards the end of Jan. He would make an effort to get back on the court before the playoffs but sadly the shoulder wasn't responding well enough to get back into playi...

Knicks Postseason Ruined By Injuries!

Image
The New York Knicks just had their best regular season in shortly over a decade. A 50-32 record, the second seed in the Eastern Conference. They had a great roster especially at the trade deadline after acquiring Bojan Bogdanovic and Alec Burks including their biggest acquisition in OG Anunoby. The Knicks were in the top ten in defensive and offensive rating which usually indicates the team has more than enough to win a championship.            In a regular season matchup against the Miami Heat, Knicks All-NBA forward Julius Randle suffered a shoulder injury after a collision with rookie Jamie Jaquez Jr. After months of rehabilitation to return before the playoffs, Randle underwent season-ending surgery. The Knicks would go into the playoffs without one of their All-Stars. However, they're a deep team so despite Randle's loss they had enough pieces to make up for his absence.        ...

Nets Retiring Vince Carter's Jersey Next Year!

Image
Last month, Vince Carter was announced the honor of being elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame's Class of 2024. He was drafted to the NBA back in 1998 along with other greats such as Paul Pierce and Dirk Nowitzki. Carter was picked by the Toronto Raptors who were a newly expanded team, the franchise joined the league in 1995. He would spend his first six seasons with the team but due to lack of success and some internal issues he would get traded to the New Jersey Nets in 2004.            Before Carter's arrival, the Nets made the finals in back-to-back seasons but fell short in both. He paired up with some talented teammates such as Jason Kidd and Richard Jefferson. While Carter would put up great numbers and continue to gain individual accomplishments, being named an All-Star a couple times, there was a lack of team success. They never made it back to the finals or even reach the Eastern Con...

Atlanta Wins the Lottery!

Image
In the 2020-21 season the Atlanta Hawks shocked the NBA, reaching the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2015. Many believed this was the beginning of the emergence of Trae Young and while he's had great seasons after that run there's been little team success. The Hawks haven't made it past the first-round since and this year missed the playoffs entirely. Many are wondering what will they do moving forward but first await the NBA Draft Lottery.            The NBA Draft Lottery is an annual event where teams who miss the playoffs take part in a process to determine the order of their picks. Before game four of the Knicks-Pacers series the occasion was broadcasted. It was a huge surprise when it was revealed that the Atlanta Hawks secured the number one overall pick in this years draft. They finished the season with a 36-46 record, the tenth seed in the Eastern Conference. Only given a three percent...

Changes Coming To New Orleans?

Image
The New Orleans Pelicans haven't had the success they've been hoping for when they drafted Zion Williamson. Matter of fact, he is the only lottery pick from the 2019 draft to not play in a playoff game. Williamson has been very unlucky and riddled with injuries since entering the league. The Pelicans have made the postseason twice since 2019 but have failed to make it out the first-round. Just recently, they got swept by the Oklahoma City Thunder and now some changes are expected to be made.            Brandon Ingram is entering the final year of his current deal. There weren't reports of any serious extension talks between the two parties and it seems like they will not happen, instead a different discussion will be had. It was reported by NBA insider Michael Scotto that Ingram is most likely to be traded this summer. Matter of fact, after game two against the Thunder there were reports that he and Pelicans head...

Suns Hire Mike Budenholzer As New Head Coach!

Image
The Suns announced that they have fired head coach Frank Vogel after just one season in Phoenix. Teams nowadays are too quick to fire their head coaches when they don't succeed and this is another case of that. The Suns got swept by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first-round of the playoffs. While the main issues was the roster construction, sadly Vogel's job took the hit and it didn't take long for Phoenix to find their new head coach.            Hours after the firing, it was later announced they plan to hire Bucks champion Mike Budenholzer. Both parties are expected to agree on a deal that approaches eight figures per year. Budenholzer helped the Milwaukee Bucks win a championship in 2021 after a fifty year drought. Ironically, he defeated the Phoenix Suns in the finals to win it all. Budenholzer has experience in coaching superstars like Giannis Antetokounmpo in Milwaukee and now he'll join forces with Kev...

The Timberwolves Steal Two In Denver!

Image
The Minnesota Timberwolves just won their first playoff series in twenty years, beating the Phoenix Suns in four games. They've had so much success this season with their incredible defense. Having the best overall defensive rating all year. It wasn't just a regular season fluke their defense has translated to the playoffs and Phoenix felt it and now the Denver Nuggets are getting a taste of it.            The Nuggets got passed the Los Angeles Lakers in the first-round after five games and they weren't nearly as a challenge as Minnesota has been. After the first two game of the second-round series, Denver hasn't looked prepared or find any ways to get past the Minnesota defense. While in game one it was remotely close, that was not the case in game two. Jamal Murray could not find a rhythm as he scored just eight points, shooting three of eighteen from the field and zero for four from three-point range. Michael ...

Klay Thompson Heading to South Florida?

Image
Klay Thompson has been a member of the Golden State Warriors since being drafted in 2011. He has been arguably the second most important piece to the dynasty. From 2015 to 2022, the Warriors went to six NBA Finals and won four championships in that span. Thompson was a huge factor in the team's success but recent rumors suggest that this could be the end of an era. It was recently reported by Shams Charania that Klay Thompson and the Orlando Magic have mutual interest heading towards free agency.            The Orlando Magic just finished having one their best seasons since 2010. They ended this season with a 47-35 record and won the Southeast division title. They would face the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first-round of the NBA playoffs. Despite being young and inexperienced, they put up a great fight but were eliminated after seven games. The Magic only shot 30.9% from three-point range in the first-round match ...
