Changes Coming To New Orleans?

Image
The New Orleans Pelicans haven't had the success they've been hoping for when they drafted Zion Williamson. Matter of fact, he is the only lottery pick from the 2019 draft to not play in a playoff game. Williamson has been very unlucky and riddled with injuries since entering the league. The Pelicans have made the postseason twice since 2019 but have failed to make it out the first-round. Just recently, they got swept by the Oklahoma City Thunder and now some changes are expected to be made.            Brandon Ingram is entering the final year of his current deal. There weren't reports of any serious extension talks between the two parties and it seems like they will not happen, instead a different discussion will be had. It was reported by NBA insider Michael Scotto that Ingram is most likely to be traded this summer. Matter of fact, after game two against the Thunder there were reports that he and Pelicans head coach Willie Green had an exchange in the locker ro

Suns Hire Mike Budenholzer As New Head Coach!

Image
The Suns announced that they have fired head coach Frank Vogel after just one season in Phoenix. Teams nowadays are too quick to fire their head coaches when they don't succeed and this is another case of that. The Suns got swept by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first-round of the playoffs. While the main issues was the roster construction, sadly Vogel's job took the hit and it didn't take long for Phoenix to find their new head coach.            Hours after the firing, it was later announced they plan to hire Bucks champion Mike Budenholzer. Both parties are expected to agree on a deal that approaches eight figures per year. Budenholzer helped the Milwaukee Bucks win a championship in 2021 after a fifty year drought. Ironically, he defeated the Phoenix Suns in the finals to win it all. Budenholzer has experience in coaching superstars like Giannis Antetokounmpo in Milwaukee and now he'll join forces with Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal.

The Timberwolves Steal Two In Denver!

Image
The Minnesota Timberwolves just won their first playoff series in twenty years, beating the Phoenix Suns in four games. They've had so much success this season with their incredible defense. Having the best overall defensive rating all year. It wasn't just a regular season fluke their defense has translated to the playoffs and Phoenix felt it and now the Denver Nuggets are getting a taste of it.            The Nuggets got passed the Los Angeles Lakers in the first-round after five games and they weren't nearly as a challenge as Minnesota has been. After the first two game of the second-round series, Denver hasn't looked prepared or find any ways to get past the Minnesota defense. While in game one it was remotely close, that was not the case in game two. Jamal Murray could not find a rhythm as he scored just eight points, shooting three of eighteen from the field and zero for four from three-point range. Michael Porter Jr also struggled offensively against the

Klay Thompson Heading to South Florida?

Image
Klay Thompson has been a member of the Golden State Warriors since being drafted in 2011. He has been arguably the second most important piece to the dynasty. From 2015 to 2022, the Warriors went to six NBA Finals and won four championships in that span. Thompson was a huge factor in the team's success but recent rumors suggest that this could be the end of an era. It was recently reported by Shams Charania that Klay Thompson and the Orlando Magic have mutual interest heading towards free agency.            The Orlando Magic just finished having one their best seasons since 2010. They ended this season with a 47-35 record and won the Southeast division title. They would face the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first-round of the NBA playoffs. Despite being young and inexperienced, they put up a great fight but were eliminated after seven games. The Magic only shot 30.9% from three-point range in the first-round match up and Thompson can provide great help in that area as he is

Two MVP Finalists Go Head-to-Head!

The Dallas Mavericks just eliminated the Los Angeles Clippers in the first-round of the NBA playoffs after six games. A couple years ago, Dallas made it past the first-round for the first time in eleven years and they made it all the way to the Western Conference Finals. This year, the Oklahoma City Thunder finished the season as the number one seed in the Western Conference and after sweeping the New Orleans Pelicans in the first-round they have won their first playoff series since 2016. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander from the OKC Thunder and Luka Doncic from the Dallas Mavericks finished as finalists for the Most Valuable Player award and now they will face each other in the second-round of the NBA playoffs.  Shai Gilgeous-Alexander averaged 30.1 points per game during the regular season which was third best overall in the league. He also averaged 2 steals per game which tied for first overall in the league, along with Sacramento Kings guard De'Aaron Fox. Luka Doncic averaged 33.9 point

Paul George Leaving LA?

Image
The Los Angeles Clippers were hoping to have won a championship by now when they signed Kawhi Leonard and traded for Paul George in the summer of 2019. Instead the Clippers have faced many disappointing early exits, having only made the Western Conference Finals once since this duo was formed, and the biggest thing is no championships. Now, Paul George's future with the Los Angeles Clippers is in question. George is on the final year of his current deal and as there was no contract extension agreed upon he will be a free agent this summer.            Kawhi Leonard signed a three-year, $150 million contract extension this season however there are other players the Clippers also have to worry about in terms of contracts. James Harden, who the Clippers acquired near the beginning of the season, is on the final year of his deal and is looking for a long-term max contract and Russell Westbrook can opt-out of his player-option and be a free agent this summer. Paul George, James

Devin Booker To the Knicks?

The Phoenix Suns faced a disappointing and embarrassing early exit, getting swept in the first-round of the NBA playoffs against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Many saw Phoenix as a championship contender especially after the acquisition of Bradley Beal. Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal are known as high prolific scorers and fans could not comprehend how teams were going to guard this big three. However, the Minnesota Timberwolves had the overall best defensive rating this season and they did not allow those three scorers to catch a rhythm throughout the series. After getting swept by Minnesota, many wonder what will Phoenix do now when they have little to no flexibility.            The Phoenix Suns do not have a draft pick of their own until 2030. Next season, the Suns will be paying nearly $150 million in salary just for Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal alone. Little cap space room, none of their own draft picks, the Suns' future is in question. Many
