Hawks All Star Guard Undergoes Surgery!

Image
The Atlanta Hawks have had a disappointing season so far including the last couple years. The Hawks made it to the Eastern Conference Finals in the 2021 playoffs but since then they have been serious underachievers. The Hawks are currently 25-32, the tenth seed in the Eastern Conference. Now it was reported by Shams Charania that Trae Young will undergo ligament tear surgery on his left hand and will be re-evaluated in four weeks.            Trae Young is having an incredible season despite the Hawks' lack of success. He is averaging 26.4 points per game, which is ranked eleventh in the league. He is also averaging 10.8 assists per game, which is ranked second in the league. He originally was not named an All-Star this year but given the injuries of Julius Randle and Joel Embiid, he filled in one of the open slots.            The Atlanta Hawks have the twelfth toughest schedule for the remainder of the season. Given that they haven't been successful with Trae Young an

Brunson Rejected Mavericks Extension Twice!

Image
It is obvious now that the Dallas Mavericks made a huge mistake letting Jalen Brunson walk in free agency. Brunson was the 33rd overall pick in the 2018 draft, selected by the Dallas Mavericks. Fast forward, before the 2021-22 season began, the Mavericks offered Brunson a four-year, $55 million contract extension but Brunson's agent encouraged him to decline and seek more money. The Mavericks offered the same deal to Brunson after the trade deadline but declined it again knowing that he could earn more money.            In the 2022 playoffs, Brunson started to break out and showed why he was deserving of a big contract. Brunson and the Mavericks made it all the way to the Western Conference Finals, first time the Mavericks reached that far in the playoffs since 2011 when they won the NBA championship. Brunson averaged 21.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.7 assists throughout the 2022 playoffs. After being eliminated by the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals

A Fight Behind the Scenes!

The Detroit Pistons recently matched up against the Phoenix Suns, Suns won the game (Suns 116, Pistons 100). The big news is not about what happened during the game, but about what happened before the game. It was reported by Shams Charania that Pistons forward/center Isaiah Stewart punched Suns center Drew Eubanks in the back tunnels of the Suns arena. Shams mentioned that Stewart and Eubanks were going chest-to-chest, exchanging words then eventually Stewart threw a punch that connected to Eubanks' mouth. Police was present, had both players separated then the police had Isaiah Stewart arrested and escorted from the arena.            Phoenix police released a statement saying "Stewart was arrested for assault and issued a citation and released. The investigation remains active." The NBA is also looking into the situation as they are reviewing security footage of the incident. Stewart has missed the last eight games due to an ankle injury. This is not the first

Things May Finally Be Looking Up In Charlotte!

Image
The Charlotte Hornets are one of the most disappointing teams this season but they may finally get better given their trade deadline activities. Now I am not saying that they will get back in the playoff/play-in picture but they may be ready to compete by next season. Of course the major reason why the Hornets have not been so good this season is their All-Star LaMelo Ball being in and out of the lineup due to ankle injuries. However the biggest bright spot for the Hornets is rookie Brandon Miller playing solid basketball. His shooting ability and his defense, he will be a great piece for the Hornets franchise.            The first move they made at the deadline was trading forward Gordon Hayward. Hayward signed with the Hornets in the summer of 2020 for four years, $120 million. He has had his moments during his Hornets tenure but his injuries had held him back. Reported by Shams Charania, the Hornets traded Gordon Hayward to the Oklahoma City Thunder for guard Tre Mann, for

The New & Improved New York Knicks!

Image
Since acquiring OG Anunoby on December 30th, the New York Knicks have been arguably the hottest team in the NBA. As a matter of fact, they are 16-4 since acquiring OG. Even with already having a great team the Knicks did not stop looking to improve their roster. At the trade deadline, the New York Knicks made a deal with the Detroit Pistons and acquired a couple great veterans.            Reported by Adrian Wojnarowski, the New York Knicks acquired guard Alec Burks and forward Bojan Bogdanovic in exchange for Quentin Grimes, Malachi Flynn, Evan Fournier, Ryan Arcidiacono and two second-round picks. This is Burks' second stint with the Knicks, he last played for them in the 2021-22 season. Burks was also part of that 2020-21 Knicks team that made the playoffs for the first time in seven years. He is a solid shooter, shooting at 40% from three-point range this season, and will be a great addition to the bench unit.            Bojan Bogdanovic has been involved in many trade

Beal Goes Off In DC Reunion!

Image
Phoenix Suns guard Bradley Beal made his return to Washington DC, where it all started. Beal was drafted by the Wizards in 2012. He would spend eleven season in DC and despite the lack of success, Beal showed dedication and loyalty to the Wizards. Beal will be known as one of the best in Wizards' history as he is third in franchise history wins (342), third in games played (695), second in points (15,391), second in field goals made (5,624), first in three pointers made (1,514), third in assists (2,972) and second in steals (772).            Last summer, Beal and the Wizards agreed that it was time to move on and close their chapter together. On June 24th, it was announced that Bradley Beal was traded to the Phoenix Suns to partner up with Devin Booker and Kevin Durant. Beal has dealt with some injuries this season that has kept him in and out of the lineup but has recently has managed to stay on the court. On February 4th, Beal has made his return to DC and he went off f

Who Is the Biggest All-Star Snub This Year?

Image
Every year, after the NBA announces the All-Stars, there are always a few players that are considered snubbed from making the All-Star team. Of course you have the starting five, which are voted by the fans and then you have the reserves, approximately fourteen reserves, who are voted by the NBA coaches. Fourteen reserve spots is obviously not enough to fit all the players that have a strong case in making the All-Star team. Here are a few notable snubs this year.            Arguably the biggest snub this year is Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young. Young is averaging 27 points per game which is eleventh best in the NBA this year and averaging 10.9 assists per game which is second best in the NBA this year. While his stats are impressive the lack of winning by the Hawks does hurt his chances. Since the Hawks' surprising run to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2021 the Hawks have not been a true contender in the East. The Hawks are currently 21-27, the tenth seed in the Eastern

Steven Adams Traded To H-Town!

Image
A trade was just made between the Houston Rockets and the Memphis Grizzlies. Now this trade doesn't have any impact for the remainder of this season but will impact both teams for next season. It was reported by ESPN NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski that the Memphis Grizzlies are trading center Steven Adams to the Houston Rockets in return for guard Victor Oladipo and three second-round picks. Steven Adams has been injured dating back to last season but is expected to make a full recovery and be available for the 2024-25 season.            Steven Adams sprained his posterior cruciate ligament in his right knee last year in January against the Phoenix Suns and was expected to be sidelined for only three-to-five weeks. In March, Adams was re-evaluated and underwent a stem-cell injection. Adams was re-evaluated again a month later however Adams was not healthy enough to return for the 2023 playoffs. Adams did not get surgery during the offseason but after a couple preseason ga
