OKC Ready To Move On From Josh Giddey?

Josh Giddey is one of many young talented players on the Oklahoma City Thunder but his fit is in question. His productivity wasn't the same in the playoffs as during the regular season. He seems to have difficulty finding a rhythm playing off the ball and it's hard to keep it in his hands when you have Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams, and Chet Holmgren on the team. The Thunder are expected to shop Giddey in trade talks this offseason and he is eligible for a rookie contract extension.

Giddey was a liability on the defensive end and opponents dared him to shoot from three-point range. Statistically, he has improved as a shooter but just wasn't good enough as teams would still leave him open. Giddey is a talented player but seems to be at his very best with the ball in his hands so a new scenery might be best for him. If you're the Thunder you hope this isn't another James Harden scenario.

The Thunder have up to 13 first-round draft picks that they can trade and add to a Giddey package. They're hopeful of acquiring an immediate impactful player this offseason. Gordon Hayward, who was traded to Oklahoma City at the trade deadline, was supposed to be that but could not find a rhythm in his limited role. The Thunder will be aggressive to build on the massive success they've had this entire year.
