Lakers Snap 11-Game Losing Streak Against the Clippers!
The Clippers just made a big trade, acquiring James Harden and PJ Tucker. While Harden did not suit up to make his Clippers debut against the Lakers, PJ Tucker was able to play against the Lakers for the first time in a Clippers uniform. Of course there isn't much to recap on Tucker's debut since he isn't known to take shots but he did come off the bench, last time that has happened was on January 3rd, 2022 against the Golden State Warriors while he was on the Miami Heat. James Harden is targeting to make his Clippers debut at New York against the Knicks on November 6th.
In this game the Clippers led by as a many as 19 points however in today's NBA no lead is safe. The Clippers were up by 13 heading into halftime but by the end of the third quarter the Lakers were up by two. Towards the final seconds of the game the Lakers were up by three but then Cam Reddish fouled Paul George on a 3-point attempt, George went to the line and made all three free throws which sent the game into overtime. It was primarily a close game however the Lakers would end up on top and snap an eleven game losing streak in this head-to-head LA matchup.
Austin Reeves struggled offensively for majority of the game. As a matter of fact he has been struggling offensively to begin the season. However in overtime he hit some huge buckets that really gave the Lakers some momentum to finish on top. The Clippers have five nights off until their next game which can help them build some chemistry with the new guys. The Clippers are rolling some big dices with this trade and anything short of a championship will be considered a failure.
