Knicks First Win With New Additions!
A couple days ago the New York Knicks made a trade with the Toronto Raptors. The Knicks acquired OG Anunoby, Precious Achiuwa and Malachi Flynn. The Knicks sent RJ Barrett, Immanuel Quickley and a second-round pick to Toronto. It's New Years day and the new additions made their Knicks debut except for Malachi Flynn due to an ankle sprain.
In his first game as a Knick, OG Anunoby was inserted into the starting lineup at small forward. A huge reason OG is a great fit on the Knicks, besides his defense, is how well he plays off the ball. With Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle being the ball dominant players on the team, OG can just play off of them and play his regular amazing defense. OG had a solid night in his Knicks debut despite fouling out scoring 17 points shooting 7 of 12 from the field (58%) and 3 of 6 from 3-point range, grabbed 6 rebounds, had an assist and a steal. He also got his first win as a New York Knick beating the Minnesota Timberwolves (Knicks 112, Timberwolves 106).
Julius Randle had an amazing night against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The last time the Knicks played the Timberwolves, which was on March 20th in 2023, Randle went crazy scoring a new career-high 57 points. He didn't have a new career-high this time against the Timberwolves but he had himself an amazing and efficient night. Randle scored 39 points shooting 14 of 24 from the field (58%) and 2 of 6 from 3-point range (33%), and grabbed 9 rebounds. The Knicks start off 2024 with a win and the rumor is that they're not done making moves.
