Pacers' All-Star Guard Injury Updates!
Tyrese Haliburton has become an All-Star caliber player and has the potential of being an All-NBA type of player. His ability to score and pass the ball with vey little turnovers, makes him one of the top players in the NBA. In the Pacers' recent matchup against the Boston Celtics, Haliburton was driving to the basket and he slipped but it was bad. As he was going down his leg hyperextended, almost like he was doing a full split. His teammates had to carry him off the court and he did not return for the rest of the game, which the Pacers won (Pacers 133, Celtics 131).
Haliburton had an MRI and it was reported by Adrian Wojnarowski that the MRI revealed that he has sustained a Grade 1 hamstring strain. The Pacers will re-evaluate his injury in approximately two weeks but there's relief that he's avoided serious injury. So far this season, Haliburton is averaging career highs in points (23.6) and assists (12.5). His 12.5 assists is the league leader in assists per game, just shows what an elite passer Haliburton is.
With Haliburton missing a minimum two weeks, it is going to take a collective effort by the Pacers to make up for his absence. Andrew Nembhard and T.J. McConnell are the point guards listed behind Haliburton. T.J. McConnell is in his ninth season in the NBA and he has tons of experience to provide great production for the Pacers on both ends. Andrew Nembhard is in his second season in the NBA but he has shown lots of growth and maturity in his game. The two point guards can't make up for all that Haliburton provides but can provide some solid production to help keep the Pacers up in the standings.
