Kings Light the Beam From LA!

The Sacramento Kings were the most surprising team last season but heading into this season teams are more prepared for them. The Kings have primarily ran it back with their roster but with a sprinkle of new additions like Chris Duarte, Sasha Vezenkov and JaVale McGee. The Kings just wrapped up a three-game homestead in which they won all three games. The Kings now begin a six-game road trip and their first stop is Los Angeles to take on the Lakers.

The Sacramento Kings had the best offensive rating in NBA history last season and against the Lakers they were on fire. Kevin Huerter, who has been struggling shooting from 3-point range, shot the lights out against the Lakers scoring 28 points shooting 10 for 16 from the field (63%) and 6 of 11 from 3-point range (55%). Domantis Sabonis was a presence in the paint scoring 29 points shooting 13 of 19 from the field (68%) and 1 for 1 from 3-point range (100%), 16 rebounds including 5 offensive rebounds, 7 assists, 3 steals and a block. This is De'Aaron Fox's second game back after suffering an ankle injury and he looked like as if he never left. Fox scored 28 points shooting 10 of 22 from the field (45%) and 3 of 9 from 3-point range (33%).

The Los Angles Lakers were just struggling to find some offense especially from Austin Reeves and Anthony Davis. Davis had a complete stinker scoring only 9 points shooting 3 of 9 from the field (33%) and 0 for 1 from 3-point range (0%). Austin Reeves, whose offense has been up and down so far this season, could not get any offense going scoring only 9 points shooting 4 of 10 from the field (40%) and 0 for 5 from 3-point range (0%). LeBron James continues to show his greatness and that his age is irrelevant to his production.

Despite being down by as many as 26 points, LeBron James nearly willed his team to complete the comeback against the Kings. James went off and finished the game with a triple-double, scoring 28 points shooting 9 of 15 from the field (60%) and 3 of 7 from 3-point range (43%),  10 rebounds and 11 assists. The Lakers would go on a 25-9 run in the 4th quarter but it just wasn't enough, the Lakers never led in the game and would fall to the Kings (Kings 125, Lakers 110). Kings start off their road trip on a good note and the Lakers lost their first game at home.
