Monday Night On League Pass In Charlotte.
The Charlotte Hornets are primarily running it back with the same roster and don't have much of a choice since Charlotte is not yet a hot spot for Free Agents. However they have the addition of their second overall pick Brandon Miller and brought back Miles Bridges after dealing with some legal issues. The way the season has gone so far for both of these teams are drastically different.
On the Celtics side they were without Al Horford and Derrick White meanwhile the Hornets were without Nick Richards and Terry Rozier. The Celtics started the game hot and even led by as many as 18 points. Despite the hot start for the Celtics, the Hornets were able to close the gap heading into the half, cutting the lead down to just nine. The Hornets never gave up as they were down by just six heading into the fourth quarter.
Down the stretch of the fourth quarter the Hornets went on a 19-8 run that tied the game and forced overtime. With the game tied in the final seconds of OT, Miles Bridges who started the game for the first time this season in the place of PJ Washington, hit a 3-pointer that gave the Hornets the lead. However Jayson Tatum was fouled on 3-point attempt and could tie the game by making all free throws. After making the first two, Tatum missed the last free throw that could have forced a second overtime. The Hornets came out on top and snapped a four-game losing streak (Hornets 121, Celtics 118).
LaMelo Ball had another outstanding performance scoring 36 points shooting 15 of 27 from the field (56%) and 5 for 11 from 3-point range (45%), 9 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 steals and a block.
