The Detroit Pistons Have Made History!
The Detroit Pistons have just made NBA history, not in a good way. Before this season began the Pistons were hopeful in taking the next step in the development process. They hired Monty Williams as the new head coach after the Suns dismissed him. This was suppose to be the year we see the Detroit Pistons become a tougher and competitive team but their season has been nothing but disappointing.
The Detroit Pistons lost their recent game against the Brooklyn Nets but this loss has significant meaning. This loss was the Pistons' twenty-seventh consecutive loss this season which sets a new record of most consecutive losses in a single season. Piston fans are completely disappointed in the organization from top to bottom. Fans are going to the games with paper bags over their faces signifying how embarrassed they are and chanting "sell the team".
There is no clear answer as to where the Pistons go from here. They have been looking to move Bojan Bogdanovic and get some solid assets in return. There's just nothing much the Pistons can do right now except ride out the season, which obviously does not sound like the best outcome. The worst NBA regular season record came from the Charlotte Bobcats in 2012 when they went 7-59. The Pistons are currently 2-27, so the Pistons have the chance to break another embarrassing record.
